Hello everyone! My name is Brandi and I am a senior at Oregon State University. My major is Botany and Plant Pathology, and I studied Sustainable Agriculture Management at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. The Botany and Ecology classes are what inspired me to further my education with OSU, and helped me discover my passion for earth sciences. My future career goals are to get into the field of Paleontology and/or Geology (I recommend taking the Physical Geology class with OSU if you get a chance because it was really fun), and work for a museum in the fossil preparation lab.
I grew up in Middletown, Ohio, and currently reside in Dayton, Ohio. 💜
I have never taken a communication course outside of speech class in high school, so this is a new subject for me (I graduated HS in 2007, so it's been awhile). Primarily I use Instagram and a little Facebook as my main sources of online communication. I have been interested in blogging online so I was thrilled to see part of our assignments are creating blogs and blog posts.
Recently I have became a published author and in my research I have found that many writers also have a blog to showcase some of their writing. I have four short stories published, one an essay on Victorian Era Cemetery Traditions, Design, and Etiquette, and three horror fiction stories with a fourth one soon to be released. One day I hope to write and publish a full horror novel and possibly start a professional blog either about horror or the paranormal. 🕮✍
My essay on Victorian Cemeteries was included in The Feminine Macabre Volume 7.
An interesting fact about me is that I am a paranormal investigator, and love to go on overnight ghost hunts at places like The Ohio State Reformatory, Waverly Hills Sanitorium in KY, The Lizzie Borden B&B in MA, and The Rolling Hills Asylum in NY.
